NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--W Hotels Worldwide, part of Starwood Hotels Resorts Worldwide, Inc.

(NYSE:HOT), today announced a new partnership with global music artist

and entrepreneur and The Coca-Cola Company to shake up the

hotel industry, one guest room at a time. Together, they are bringing

the EKOCYCLE(TM) brand to W Hotel rooms around the world, changing sheets

and changing minds.

W Hotels will soon begin re-making their beds with new EKOCYCLE(TM) branded

sheets, which are made in part with rPET (polyester partially made using

recycled plastic). Rolling out into W Hotels in North America first with

global properties to follow, each king size sheet set utilizes

approximately 31 recycled 20 oz. plastic bottles - which equates to more

than 268,000 plastic bottles across all W Hotel beds in North America.

The result is bedding that is as luxurious as it is environmentally

conscious, ensuring that guests continue to have the same incredibly

comfortable sleep they have come to expect from a night in a W Hotel

bed. Guests can rest assured that they won't feel a difference, as the

more sustainable sheets are made using the same high quality process as

the W brand's current bedding, with the only difference being the use of

recycled polyester instead of new polyester.

W Hotels and the EKOCYCLE(TM) team didn't stop with changing the sheets.

Together, they wanted to recycle even more plastic, so they turned their

attention to the nightstand and created a colorful little bedtime

companion. The "Mobile Charger and Accessory Valet" (MCAV), is a

multi-tasking USB charging device that also acts as a jewelry/watch

stand and an alarm clock. Developed by Miniwiz, an emerging engineering

firm from Taipei focused exclusively on post-consumer recycled material

design applications, the MCAV is partially created out of three recycled

plastic bottles and is available in six colors, including gold, red, hot

pink, black, white and silver. These devices will soon be bedside in

every W Hotel room around the world, powering up devices and waking up

guests from Los Angeles to London.

Platinum Fashion MallPlatinum Fashion Mall shop La Boutique, which can be found on the second floor in the Oxford zone. If you were to compile a list of Bangkok shopping centers you wouldn't

want to visit on a Saturday afternoon, Platinum Fashion Mall would be right up

there with MBK and Pantip Plaza. 

This six-floor monster on Petchaburi Road is technically a

wholesale shopping center, though it's open to anyone in search of a bargain. 

Most of the floors are dedicated to women's clothing, hats, jewelry, shoes and purses,

but there are floors with shops selling stuff for men and children, as well as souvenirs and gifts. 

When to go 

Platinumfashionmall.comHat shop In Bangkok, found in the basement of Platinum Shopping Mall. The lanes in Platinum are narrow, all the jewellery online better to cram every spare inch with shops. But this also means that weekends are a

brutal time to visit, as foot traffic is slow moving.  

The best time to hit Platinum is in the morning on a

weekday, right after the mall opens at 9 a.m. Otherwise, get ready to throw some elbows if you want a shot at digging through the racks for that perfect find as most of the shops are really tiny. 

Though it's open till 8 p.m., by

late-afternoon Platinum fills quickly with students and the after-work crowd -- a ruthless, hardened bunch of serial shoppers who will not let a timid first-timer get in their way of a bargain. 

Keep in mind

Platinum Fashion MallThough Platinum caters mainly to women, there are quite a few men's clothing shops such as Assembly, on the second floor. None of the shops let you try on clothing, which means you

have to be extra careful about what you buy. Many of the dresses, pants and shorts

are designed to fit women of a slimmer build. 

If in doubt, stick to simple items like T-shirts, slip

in their own shops or online, and can be seen walking around dragging huge zippered plastic shopping sacks attached to little carts. If you're planning to go on a spree, buy a big plastic sack and do the same. Beats carrying around a dozen tiny plastic bags.
